From the pristine waters of Southern New Zealand comes the most delicious, nutritious seaweed known to man

Introducing KiwiWakame

KiwiWakame is the highest quality wakame seaweed, a sea vegetable highly valued for its nutritional qualities and delicious flavour which has been eaten in Japan and other Asian countries for many centuries.

KiwiWakame is located in Invercargill, New Zealand's southernmost city. We harvest our wakame from the pristine waters of Stewart Island and Foveaux Strait in the far south of New Zealand.

The plant is hand-harvested and freeze dried locally which preserves the nutrients and delicious flavour whilst allowing a much longer shelf life than traditional sun-dried wakame, and then we distribute to retailers, restaurants and consumers around the world

High Nutritional Value

High in minerals and trace elements including Iodine, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorous, Iron, Manganese, Chromium and Zinc, vitamins A,C,E,K,B1,B2,B3,B5, Omega 3's and high in fibre, wakame has among the highest nutrient to caloric ratios.

Sustainably Harvested

Our sea, which is constantly replenished by the nutrient rich waters of the southern ocean, is the ideal environment in which to grow and harvest wakame.By sustainably hand-harvesting wakame, which is a non native species, we are helping to preserve the precious marine environment of New Zealand.
